Auto desk. Bajaj Auto introduced the electric variant of Chetak last month. It is also the company’s first all-electric scooter. Chetak is back in the Indian market after 14 years. However, it will be officially launched in January 2020. This scooter can be seen in Chetak Electric Yatra to be held in Pune from 14 November. This journey is 3000 km long. This scooter will pass through many cities during the journey. The journey will end with the return of Pune. Let us know that the production of this scooter started on September 25, 2019.
Mileage of 95km on single charge
The Chetak electric scooter features IP67 rated lithium ion battery with 4kW electric motor. It can be charged from a standard 5-15 amp outlet. However, the company did not provide information about battery capacity. The scooter will get a swingram-moundet motor, which powers the wheel with the help of a high-efficiency automatic gearbox. There will be different modes according to speed and mileage. Like in eco mode, it will run up to 95 kilometers on a single charge. At the same time, its mileage will be 85 km in Sport mode.
Will be equipped with many premium features
It will also get many premium features like Fully Digital Instrument Cluster, Key-less ignition. With the help of the app, this scooter can be connected. Which will be able to control many features as well. The front has an oval LED strip around the headlamps. Will be able to buy the scooter in 6 colors. The scooter has a single side trailing suspension at the front. At the same time, monoshock suspension will be found in the rear. Both front and rear tires will get disc brakes for speed control. It will get tubeless tires.
Price will be less than 1.50 lakhs
Rajiv Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Auto, had said about the price of the scooter that it would not cost more than Rs 1.50 lakh. Chetak Electric will be competitively priced. The company will first roll it out in Pune and Bangalore. It will be sold through a pro-biking network. It is believed that in the Indian market, it will compete with the Ather 450 and Okinawa Prze.
